The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania and Bucharest is developing in line with the world's oldest and most widely known business brand - the Chamber of Commerce movement. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bucharest was set up in 1868 and at present it is an independent Chamber of Commerce, member of the National one.
CCIR is a non-governmental, autonomous, voluntary, non-profit and self-sufficient association of business.
Being the largest and most trusted business body in developing trade links, CCIR is also the most representative organization of the business community in Romania. Based on a volunteer system of affiliation, CCIR represents today the interests of more than 50,000 Romanian companies. Acting as a single voice, CCIR holds together over 120 business and professional associations, county and bilateral CCIs.
CCIR is also an active member of the most representative international organizations: International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Eurochambres, the Association of Balkan Chambers (ABC), Black Sea Economic Cooperation Business Council and many others.
Over the course of time, CCIR signed co-operation agreements with more than 200 organizations from all over the world and uses its worldwide links to facilitate business between its members and traders and investors.
