Romania has become an ever more attractive destination for foreign investors, due to the unquestionable political and economical progress registered in the last years. This idea has been brought forward during several bilateral business meetings or within business forums or international conferences focused on economic themes, in which CCIR took part.
Romania shows many competitive advantages as a full of potential business location, worth considering by foreign investors. Here are some of these advantages: rich natural resources, strategically position at the crossroads of three European transport corridors, legislation in line with the EU norms, application of the tacit approval procedure, manpower with solid technological, IT or engineering background and sustainable economic growth. Romania is the largest consumer market in the Eastern Europe and it reached consolidation of macroeconomic stability and curbed inflation, consolidation of relationships with the world financial institutions and increased its credibility at international level.
The appreciation expressed by foreign businesspersons and the business plans developed in Romania are indicators of the achievements registered, and represent further motivation for improving the investment climate.
To this effect, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania takes constant action at national and international level: consistent with its work for building a stable and sustainable business environment CCIR promotes and stimulates the investment process in Romania, facilitates business contacts and concludes bilateral agreements. CCIR's databases supply those interested with information on business opportunities, market information, or data related to different lines of work, particularly helpful in building development strategies.
Moreover, the Investment Partnership Centre Partinvest, an organizational structure within CCIR, works constantly to collect, store, and process information on investment projects, and funding, credit, and association resources for plan development. Partinvest brings face-to-face the demand of investments and the specific domestic and foreign supply.
One of the main events CCIR organizes is The International Investment Forum successfully developed in the last 5 years; the forum brings together representatives of the administration, commercial companies, multinationals, public corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises, entrepreneurs, representatives of banking and financial institutions and of credit guarantee funds from Romania and from abroad in order to identify the financial resources that best suit the relevant projects.
I encourage all the foreign companies who come to Romania to take into consideration all the services and the facilities The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania can provide and I hope 2006 will be a successful year for all the economic actors.
